She is a warm, engaging and dynamic speaker who has worked with women in the global world to enhance self esteem, empowerment and encouraging them to fulfill their divine purpose.  As a licensed clincial social worker and spiritual leader, she has spoken in many churches, conducted workshops and retreats for congregations; especially women.  Currently, Dr. McGowan is the Women’s Missionary Society chairperson for Bethel AME Church in Manhattan, Kansas.  She uses her gift of creativity to develop curriculum and activities to promote spiritual growth. 

 

    Dr. McGowan’s depth and breadth of professional and spiritual experiences consistently provides audiences with wisdom, insight and revelation. She retired from Kansas State University with more than 30 years experience as an award winning faculty member, administrator and community leader in 2012.  She is recognized for her work in multicultural curriculum development, diversity training and building multiethnic communities.  Dr. McGowan has received numerous national, state and local leadership awards.  But more importantly, she uses her spiritual gifts to inspire, motivate and encourage others to live their best for God and to recognize that they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
